SCRUBS

- Scrubs, together with South Park, Six Feet Under and The Apprentice are my favourite TV Shows. For me, it is a simply awesome TV serial. Pls note I did not include Friends(considered as the best TV serial ever by many critics)in my list -

Scrubs. Salah satu tv serial yang jujurnya gue gak pernah tau jadwal tayangnya di TV. But almost every wednesday, I will find it in my computer desktop [1]. Thanks for those people who have enough time to record it from TV, rip-it to computer file and upload it in a website. NBC.com claimed Scrubs has an average of 12.7 million viewers overall per week [2].

Scrubs bercerita tentang kehidupan di sebuah rumah sakit called "Sacred Heart" (di "Smallville" R.Snya juga Sacred Heart khan yah?). John Dorean (JD) adalah the main character dalam serial ini. Most of the time, the show tells us the evolution of a young JD [3] from an intern till become an official M.D, how he study life through interactions with the patients and fellow doctors and become more mature from the experiences. Tokoh2[4] lainnya: Turk (JD's best friend) and Carla (Turk's wife ), Elliot (another intern with whom JD has a special relationship), Dr. Cox (JD's tutor), Dr. Kelso (the chief of medicine of Sacred Heart), The Hospital Janitor (I can not recall any episode which reveals his name[5], he is JD's nemesis). Most of the characters are weird (yeah like all the Friends' characters, they have a weird taste about anything[6]), self-centered [7] and childish (most of them have a freakingly-unique way of celebrating a victory over something [8]). Yet, in some occasions, they unexpectedly show their maturity.

These are several of my reasons why I do love this serial:
1. It's funny [9]. First, Scrubs has an ally-macbeal-type-of-daydreaming. There are several scenes show JD's imagination which are extremely hiperbolic. Second, most of the humor are sarcastic. Dr. Cox, JD's tutor, always has a way of criticising the other characters. For me [10], some of his comments are extremely hillarious. Finally, the freak habit of each character are picturized in an extreme way.

2. I guess the director/producer(which is the actor who plays JD, Zach Braff) taste of music is quite similar with me. I do love every single of the soundtracks and regularly get them from the net. They sound faboulous in my ears (for example, "Collide", "Closer", or "Pinch Me"[11])

3. I've never been a fan of a 100%-pure-entertaining-without-any-clear-life-lesson entertainment [12]. When I enjoy or watch a TV serial, I expect to gain a lesson from it. I expect the show to be able to make me think thoroughly about something [13]. I hate type of entertainment which only allows me to enjoy the show without any deep thinking [14]. Scrubs tells us a unique interactions between its selfish characters. Most of the time, scrubs is ended with JD [15] explaining what he has learnt from the experience he went through in that particular episode (similar to SouthPark, in which almost every episode, Kyle [16] or Stan [17] will mention " I learned something today...") [18]. The experience may include relationship, ego-control, or self-confidence [19].

In short, yap this is my favourite TV serial. (Ndut, ini favorite loe juga khan?, mau ngambil 4 season lengkap? dateng aja ke rumah.). Those who haven't watched it, just try one episode after a long hard rough day [20], you might enjoy it.
